Please Do A Piece on Michael Jackson Hi, I’m writing to you because Last Week Tonight as opposed to other such shows actually cares about issues rather than chasing the headlines. It has been 11 years since Michael Jackson passed away yet to this day what the common consensus is that he is a taboo subject for many. I recall you guys once did a piece on Public Shaming. Michael Jackson was a genius, an abused child. He was strange. He was one of the few major stars from the 80s who came out of the 80s without a heroine addiction. He in his own way did many, Many strange things, but so do most other superstars. And more than others he actually cared. About children, about the earth. About the issues we are discussing to this day. While Icons like Freddie Mercury, Elvis Pressley, Prince, Beetles and many more are known for their good works, Michael is known for the something which he has repeatedly been acquitted for. It’s the truth that anyone looking for will find instantly but due to the “where there is smoke there is a fire” narrative, even 11 years after his death, the new media treats him like a criminal. All his trial pages are open for the public to read. He WAS weird. Making a ranch called neverland, hanging out with children. Trusting people he shouldn’t. But I urge you please cover him, hear beyond the noise like you guys often do. The most successful African American Artist of all time was a humble man child, who respected women, loved children and cared about our environment. He was not a heroine junkie, a private man who did not share his disease even all the way back in 1993 even though he was accused of wanting to become a “White Man”. He was eccentric. Hanging out with animals and caring about them. theobjectivestandard.com/2020/02/justice-for-michael-jackson/ This article covers multiple sources, some of which I had read previously. Michael Jackson was a multi talented millionaire pop star, who was not an alcoholic, was a caring father, a filial son, Treated women with respect, cared about the planet and it’s beings. The press that constantly kept DASHING him, had found a way to subvert their guilt. All those years of calling him a “Jacko”, “monkey” and many more hurtful things was justified if he was a paedophile. They NEEDED him to be guilty. Such a man cannot exist in Hollywood. Such public shaming had allowed and to this day allows Michael to be a victim to all this slander. Please do a piece, if not one that exonerates him then one that once and for all cements the fact the Michael Jackson, the greatest pop star, the first African American Idol was a paedophile. Not through unknown sources or flimsy headlines but through concrete proof. A news echoing in a closed chamber will not reach anyone, most fans who what to know the truth know it, other people will read the headlines but not the explanations. It’s about time the general public knows. Please do a piece on Michael, the blatant mistreatment by the media, The systematic racism he faced during his trials. Please don’t let the first African American Singer be remembered for the things he did not do, He was weird, weird enough to annoy Freddie Mercury with Bubbles feedbacks, weird enough to let kids crack raw eggs over Michael Jackson, Weird enough to play water balloons with children. But he was not a paedophile and the world needs to acknowledge that. He was in no way a “Perfect Human” but he tried his best to live right and we should not punish him for doing that. On this year please exonerate this Black man, the Justice System has done it two decades ago, it’s about time everyone else does. Please do a piece on Michael Jackson. #spreadtheawareness #justiceformichael #hedeservedbetter

I'm thinking about adding this video to our group...I'm interested to see the input of our members. It is always the major civilizations that keep coming back. With economic trade and with "true" friendship and love by mixing with Asia on their lands the Europeans would have understood Creation/God, they would have understood this planet that they are not the sum of all things. If the British had come in as "true" friends to India they would still be a empire but the thinking was primitive and the "Sun was Set". Creation is now bringing in China which is going better for Central Asia who the west has bombed for resources and South America. Again if China's thinking also gets egotistical primitive , then a new power maybe Russia? but it is always the same major civilizations. Words in the 50+ versions of the Bible says he created man in His image ..take a good look around the world, it is not European white or African black...Asia is the cradle of civilization, America with the Shah of Iran had a great opportunity to change Asia for the better but chose not to and this is where we are at today. A Mess!! The civilization that actually cares for the betterment of mankind will be the first empire on this planet. When the teachers of Asia came it was that energy but mankind lost the knowledge.

Asia is Egypt, Arabs, Israel, Persia, India. China is the Orient. The rest is Indo Pacific or Indo-China. Asia was a separate civilization, a separate race. All the teachers of ALL the faiths are from Asia because it was their spirituality, their narrative but corruption separated us. Asia at the beginning had nothing to do with the Europeans, Africans, Orientals. The names, stories in the Old Testament are Asian e.g. Sarai, Amir, Shemi (Indian). The west has manipulated the Orient into Asia because religion is the biggest business. The Vatican has it's own bank and will/has done everything for the business under the religion flag. Look up the "Anahata Chakra" this was the symbol before any religion. Yeshiva(Jesus' real Jewish Asian name, Jesus was given to assimilate with the Greek deity Zeus) and the Indian Prince "Buddha"(who colonized the Orient) never wanted religion. The Pharoah's belief system was rebirth, the Lotus Flower(the Indian Prince "Buddha), the snake head gear over the third eye, symbolizing primitive energy to enlightenment. All the faiths have outside influence. e.g. the Vedas -flying machines before we even knew how to fly? Torah-Creation/God talking from a cloud? Mecca- a stone from the sky? The west understood the power of Yeshiva's words and at the beginning created beautiful civilization but later manipulated into the European image for "Power and Greed". like the mythology of Satan Europe could not accept the creation of the other, especially Asia who was blessed first, so they created WAR. Europe has lost sight of the truth through all the manipulation and is corrupting itself. Everything did not start in Africa? consciousness started with Asia. Asia is the cradle of civilization, it is through the teachers of all the faiths of Asia that this planet is colonized. The Kings of Asia brought in African slavery. Creation will always fight for it's truth. We should have been seekers...........

Will you also bring up the fact, that Asians are racially attacked by the Bleeps, daily? "Name famous Asian-American".. ask them to name famous Euro/Anglo-American! They will still name 1, or 2 who also died in 1800's. You know why James? Its not cus of racism, its cus they don't give a flying F in GENERAL. You sanctimonious lil t w t. Call them poorly educated, but not racist! Kamala Harris is Asian-American!?!? That B literally morphing in to w/e is IN at the time. Edit: So you see it as wrong, when a minority(a race) is globally recognized, for its achievements!? YES OLIVER, Asian-Americans are SUPERB people! They are people with highest IQ(part of them), they have strongest work ethics, they have strong family unit.. you bet your skinny A $ $ they should be acknowledged for it!! I guess you don't like it, cus then your whole lil Snow Bear guilt is going down the toilet. Where is the W Supr. when Asians are in questions?? They are the literal proof, that character and culture, and not skin color, gets you ahead or behind! And no matter how many of, those rare-few, whinny Asian lib+ards you can find, and record them crying and moaning.. wont change the fact.. that Asian-Americans(Asians in whole, actually) are SUPERB group of people. If you wanna cherry pick, and say that it mostly apply to far east ones, you can.. and you'd be weak to do so. ALL of Asian-Americans have the above named strengths, with barely any weaknesses.

I understand how insulting it must be to be called Asian American. I would find it very insulting to be confused for an English British person. I don't want to be associated with the European people who have done more genocide than any other eumelanin pigmentated people on the planet. I am of Danish / Norwegian / German ethnicity. Maybe my Viking ancestry enslaved a lot of different Europeans back about 700 years ago ( sorry about that, but if I were born back then I probably would have killed or enslaved Mr. Oliver . It is what Vikings did ) but I would not do that now. Still, I don't like being lumped in with British just because of my pigmentation. I actually have not been back to the U.S. for 20 years. The problem with the model minority myth is that it's backwards logic. It says that the solution to racism is for racial minorities to be "respectable" before we should have to respect them. That's not the case because every human being deserves a basic level of respect. They deserve equity in our society, no matter their level of "success" or cultural features. Not only are white people given that, they are given so much "respect" that they don't have go to jail after they murder a Chinese-American man.

So to claim it's all because of our "white supremacist system" is asinine. But what's to be expected from a liberal loon. And just to point out it's this gaslighting asshats party that has termed Asian Americans as "white adjacent" and wants to limit their admissions into highest halls of education. It's always jarring to me to hear that India is part of Asia. It's so distinct from East Asia culturally and in how people think of it, but this entire massively-populated area is just lumped in. Like, at LEAST split your "Asia" into quadrants. And the phrase "model minority" is implicitly creepy. Once there's an ideal way for specifically minorities to act, there is some palpable evil going on.

like look at all the poverty in asian countries....I don't understand how you can say that asians are a "culturally meritocratic society" when theres a huge wealth gap among the continent. people act like asians and asian americans are the same, like the ccp represents chinatown, and yet, "asians as successful model minorities" doesn't even hold up in asia itself. the real reason is that americans use the term "model minority" to justify the limitations in immigration quotas, and use us as a prop to fuel the myth of the american dream. "you can only become successful in america, not in those poor countries". the purveyors of this myth fail to realize then, that this directly contradicts the idea of "asian culture" being the sole reason for asian american success. you could argue then, that the reason is a combination of both "asian culture" and the opportunities of the american dream that make the model minority. However, that is also disproven statistically by the success gap between asian american groups as well. the only reason why theres so many "successful asians", is simply because of confirmation bias, and the fact that the immigration quotas, which prioritize young entrepeneurs, from the 1960s have since stayed the exact same.

Starting in used to be closed country...with nothing. Now after decades being one of most prosperous around and our people take them as one of our own and applaud their work ethics and mentality. WTF is wrong with that? They are awesome you hear it? And we love them. So gtfo with your binary american bullsh*t all the time. Life is not 1s and 0s...black and white so don't try to put it like it is all the time in every topic. Dont try to force suicide rate within Asian minority is caused by nice racism of white men. It is mostly caused by tiger parenting (it is a term look it up) of their own culture and this pressure is part of the SAME problem in China, Japan and S.Korea...so quit your narrative. Also to say they don't seek help enough compare to rest of the country. In reality? NOBODY IN WHOLE WORLD can compare to Americans and their psychiatric junkiness. You are slaves of pharma and 75% of antidepressants worldwide are consumed in USA only. This is not something to be proud of or using it as "standart" for any measure. So quit it too... I hate FOX and all the proTrump bullsh*ters...but how can you be so loudly against them when you are doing completly the same for your narratives and bending of reality........just quit it...this topic is strong enough without this antics...

Nice summary of naive, cherry-picked, misleading, and sometimes false Liberal talking points. If you really care about Asian American data then I would suggest the following eefast.info/for/c6qJqIFz2Yehm9s/video.html although I suspect that most of the simplistic Liberal talk about Asian Americans these days is mainly to support the political power of Liberals rather than promote any genuine concern for understanding Asian Americans. We should raise taxes on grossly overpaid television personalities like John Oliver who are basically saying whatever will increase their ratings regardless of its accuracy or veracity.

I've long been disappointed at the representation of Asian-Americans in film in particular. Most of them are "funny people" or play some level of stereotype - we haven't come that far from Breakfast at Tiffany's in some ways. Example: I thought it would have been awesome if some of the new Star Trek shows featured a strong Asian figure as captain, but instead we got an Asian captain who died almost immediately and then came back as her literal evil twin and a second show starring a reluctant white guy who already played a captain years ago. *facepalm*

Fun fact: Filipino-Americans exist mainly because the United States bought the Philippines for twenty million dollars from Spain. Although there were already a few Filipino men(mostly sailors) who settled in the American continent and married Native Americans because of the Manila-Acapulco Galleon Trade that lasted for about two hundred and fifty years.

Also adhering to Maoism, an ideology which led to things like the great leap forward and the cultural revolution in China. Thank you British Jon Oliver for taking up the cause and schooling Americans on the terrible atrocities committed by the country he chose to move to. 🙄 Look I am Korean-American and I have experienced my fare share of racism which has affected my personal and professional life. But, you know what? I do not needlessly whine about it or dwell on it because the good always comes with the bad. I love my country even though I recognize it can improve. I assume that is the case for Jon Oliver too. The difference is I think he thinks videos like this will help change it; I think it will, but in a non-constructive way. Who is the audience for this video? Mostly Asian young people are going to watch this. It strikes an angry tone and encourages young people to blame and self-victimize (my opinion). Look, crummy things have happened here, but crummy things happen everywhere! Yes, you can find congressional documents that are outright racist in intent and language but those were feeble efforts of weak minded scared men to self protect from things they did not know, and they did not stop the progress. Why do I love America? The way I look at it, the world shows that humans are impulsively tribal. We want to hord things for ourselves and those we consider our tribe. The general direction of the last 1000 years or so has been the trend of expanding our definition of who our tribe is. It went from being our immediate kinsmen, to our tribe, to our city state, to our ethnicity (all of which naturally necessitated some distant shared blood or kinship) to our nation state. Colonization was driven by self interested tribalism. By that point in history the definition of "tribe" had expanded, but not enough to view conquered peoples as having potential to become part of the "tribe". Our American revolution started out of "breach of tribe". "Hey we are part of the British tribe, why aren't we being treated like we are?" To their credit our forefathers, despite being raised, educated, normalized in the tribal mindset started to think outside of it. Yes they still held many beliefs that today we would consider racist, but it is because of their willingness to BEGIN the process of challenging tribalism mindset that our society places more value on all people today. They both challenged it with words like "We hold these truths to be self evident that ALL men are created equal," and acknowledged the tribal desire of groups/tribes to dominate over others with setting up a government system that respected the decision of the majority but also sought to protect protections of the minority. Washington's warning against partisan politics was an appeal to resist the urge to settle back into tribalism. The founders of our country methodically established a government system that recognized that humans naturally want to be tribal but that humans thrive best when powerful tribes are not allowed to completely dominate less powerful ones. Yes, I know, slavery. While the main thought forefathers did not adequately challenge slavery, their new thoughts on each life being equal regardless of which tribe they belonged to created tension for them. I believe they recognized the evil, but considering how hard it had been to just win independence and freedom to create not only a new nation/ tribe, but one that's whole premise of governing differed from any other that existed, they felt powerless to make the necessary change. AND we have to remember that they had already come such a long ways from the pervading ideology they had been raised by. (Most of us can barely handle challenging our accepted norms in daily life like changing where we sit at work.) Not all the forefathers, because there were some who were along for the ride to create a new tribe where they were top dogs (but we don't generally remember those ones or honor them.) But the true thought leaders like Jefferson, Madison, Washington, Hamilton, Franklin, Monroe, Adams, all contributed pieces to the understanding to create a government that sought to encourage individuals to break free from tribes. The philosophy they built the government on encouraged the people to think of the dignity of humanity not just of a preferred tribe. They set the wheel in motion, not perfectly but pretty darn well. It is then left to each following generation to build and improve on the ideals they set forth. Unfortunately our country is sinking back into tribalism with fear mongering and victimization narratives (both parties are guilty of both). I fear that even videos like this that attempt to bring awareness just entrench people in tribalism. Asians that moved here and stayed did so because the system here is generally speaking more respectful of human dignity than the ones they came from. Even with the hurtful things experienced, we have been able to live better more free lives here than the countries we or our ancestors came from.

TIGER WOODS and Senator DANIEL INOUYE were the only American Asians I could name. Myths busted: I suck at math. I'm 6'3". I drove a Silverado 4x4, lifted 6" with 36" mudder tires. Have no accent (business english - I think they call it.) Mixed race family. Dad, white (Career US Military Officer). Mom, Asian. Experienced Homelessness, hence the name "throw away" people. Some of my experiences: a) "go back to your country" most comment I hear. I have videos. I think it broke my dad's heart to hear people say that to me. b) Mom IS RACIST. I was Beaten for bringing home black friend from school. Recently, I hoped her cancer will be a painful death after she tried to contact me. Dad had black friends and they stayed at the house many times. But.....Dad would yell Asian epithets at tv on (Asian theater of operations) network news, in front of us kids. I think that made us ashamed of our ethnicity. c) My sister and I were sent home from school with a note - creates disturbances when speaking to each other in foreign language. Parent's told us never speak our 2nd language. We only speak English now. Student threw a Cherry Bomb at me which stuck in my shirt collar and exploded, throwing me off my bike, while riding. Loveland Elementary (Aurora, Colorado??) and Carriage Hill Elementary (Papillion, Nebraska). Both schools sucked for us. I never had issues at Fort Crook Elementary (Omaha,NE) or Logan Fontenelle (Bellevue, NE). d) Overseas, treated like foreigners on base (constantly stopped for ID among a group of American students going to school). Treated with disdain by the locals because we didn't speak the language. e) I've been threatened with violence in Branson, Mo by a group of 8 people on the 4th of July. Me (boating with white friends - their first time there as well) and a black kid (playing on a rope swing) were the only non-white people I saw that day on the lake of the Ozarks - but it was super, super crowded. If anyone remember E.F. Hutton commerials, it was like that. I would boat past and people stopped mid-beer guzzling or mid-sentence - just automatic silence and dirty stares. f) almost shot by Sheriff for carrying a black and white GOLF UMBRELLA. I am old and disabled. The local police stopped me as well. Officer didn't even get out of his car. He laughed at the report of "Asian man carrying a rifle" when he saw my umbrella. Why wasn't the person calling in a false report, arrested? g) But most racist place I have ever lived: Hawaii. "kill Haouli day" (kill white people day) in high school. if they couldn't find the white person they were looking for, they took it out on their car. So many fights only based on ethnicity. My dad selected Hawaii as duty station so he could "protect us from racism".
